For my Surface studio, I was tasked to create a zine that explores negative/positive shapes and text. In order to complete this project I first had to create a wire head sculpture. From there, I made a negative/positive shape ink drawing. After that, I created a multimedia zine exploring themes of childhood memories and the process of growing up. Four pages of the zine had to incorporate photos of the wire head, which was used on pages 4, 5, 6, and 7. At least four pages had to explore materials and processes that I was interested in, so I chose digital photo manipulation. The text on the pages is my own handwriting that I turned into a typeface. I had a lot of fun with this project because it was a way to connect to my childhood again, while investigating a process that I love. This zine is housed in a wooden box filled with dirt and plastic bugs.
