October 2025
This is a project I created for one of my graphic design classes. We had to compile a collection of 200 images, choosing anything we wanted as the subject. I chose to collect 200 portraits of people. I photographed friends and classmates, but the majority of these portraits are of strangers. I had each participant hold up a whiteboard with the number they were out of 200. I focused on my daily routes and areas I frequented, connecting with people I would usually just walk right by. I met many different kinds of people and got to hear their stories.
I created a zine from the 200 portraits I photographed. We were given directions to organize our collections into four different categories, which is reflected in my zine. I categorized people by how they posed, who they were, where I found them, and what they were doing when I took their picture. My zine is designed to unfold and reveal a hidden poster on the back. It contains all 200 people I photographed.
