Description: For this assignment a couple classmates and I were tasked with setting up a compelling composition for a still life using sticks, rocks, shoelaces, and dramatic lighting. After we finished, I picked an angle I liked and began drawing. This was a challenging project because my drawing had to incorporate the large value range and textures of the sticks. It was hard to keep the graphite from smudging, but it was a good learning experience overall. I had to pay close attention to the textures I was creating with my pencil, and the where on the value scale each part of the objects were on.
