Description: I was tasked to create a non-objective wire sculpture that was based on a sound. I listened to ten different sounds and did rough gesture sketches to represent what I heard in each sound. After this, I narrowed it down to four sounds and listened to them again. I did more gesture sketches and really tired to focus on the emotions I felt when listening to each sound. I decided to choose a baby's laughter as my sound. From there I began building my idea further based on my gesture sketch, thinking about form, color, and materials. I found this project really rewarding because I got to be really creative, and I learned a lot through abstraction about how color and form can convey emotion.
